Informal Probate
Unfortunately, many pass away before having a trust in place. In these instances, it often necessary for their family to seek an appointment of a Personal Representative, a person who can manage the decedent’s estate, who can then distribute assets, pay creditors, sell property, and handle all of the other issues that can come up. The process of appointing a Personal Representative and managing the estate after a person has passed on is called Probate.
Probate can quickly become a complex process and the legal process overwhelming, especially during an already difficult time for the family. We at Groneman Law Firm help clients with Informal Probate (also referred to as Uncontested Probate in which there is little to no dispute over the estate and the case is filed within three years of the person’s death), ensuring the legal process is followed and the estate is properly managed.
